Moraea MM 19-79

Seed parent: MM 13-46 (M. tripetala)
Pollen parent: MM 15-63a (bellendenii X neopavonia 'Summerfield')

The seed parent is a cross between two individuals of M. tripetala, which often induces stripes in hybrids. The pollen parent is an orange flower that looks a lot like neopavonia but with broken colors in the eye. Their offspring are very different from both parents.

MM 19-79a. Marvelous! White tepals but very long dark purple style crests, a very unusual and attractive combination.

MM 19-79b. Almost pure white, very elegant.

Here's a sibling. Nice speckles in the center. For a similar flower, see MM 14-01, which is a straight cross between tripetala and neopavonia, with no involvement of bellendenii.
