Gladiolus MM 20-71
Seed parent: MM 11-36 (G. tristis X carneus)
MM 20-71b. This is more like what I expected from this cross.
Pollen parent: G. bonaspei
MM 20-71a. This is a cross between a pink hybrid and a red-yellow species, so I was very surprised to get a white flower, and I strongly suspected that a stray seed from another nearby cross had washed into this spot. But a similar surprise white hybrid showed up in another cross, so maybe this is a genuine cross telling me something about Gladiolus genetics.
Moraea MM 20-63
Seed parent: MM 17-26a (M. lurida x villosa) X (lurida x (aristata x villosa))
Pollen parent: MM 17-63c (atropunctata x (atropunctata x calcicola) X (atropunctata x (atropunctata x calcicola)
Curious. The pollen parent has an intense orange color, but that disappeared completely in these hybrids.
I'd say they are more interesting than beautiful, but I do like the precise veins.
