Moraea MM 12-55

Seed parent: Moraea tricolor pink form
Pollen parent: Moraea macronyx

A vigorous set of hybrids in shades of rusty red and bright yellow. These plants bloom in mid-winter, and are a very pleasant sight when few other things are in bloom. Unfortunately, the individual flowers last only a day each, but the cluster of plants was in bloom for several weeks. For the reciprocal cross, see MM 12-143.

MM 12-55a.

MM 12-55b. (turned out to be the same as form A)

MM 12-55c. This one has a lot more red in the tepals.

MM 12-55d. A bit less color in the inner tepals (the smaller reddish petals).

MM 12-55e. One of my favorites, because of its very vivid veining.

MM 12-55f. Relatively pale and small.
