Moraea MM 13-136

Seed parent: Moraea tripetala

Pollen parent: Moraea 10-02a (M. villosa X tulbaghensis)

This is another example of the weird effect M. tripetala has on hybrids. In this case it produces spots all over the tepals. One other interesting effect: Usually an orange flower crossed with a purple produces pale orange. Not this time...

MM 13-136a. Very nice flowers! The color scheme is very similar to MM 11-69a, another M. tripetala cross.

Even the backs of the tepals are striped...

MM 13-136b. A very dramatic flower, although I'm not too fond of the very dark color in the eye.

MM 13-136c. Wow, this one is extremely different from the other two.

MM 13-136d. Similar to form a, but with with wider tepals and a bit lighter purple color in the stripes.
