Moraea MM 18-127

Seed parent: MM 13-137c (M. tripetala X calcicola)
Pollen parent: Moraea villosa o

The seed parent very often produces spotted and striped offspring, but in this case the flowers look very much like somber versions of the pollen parent.

MM 18-127b

And more...

Moraea MM 18-122

Seed parent: MM 13-84c (M. loubseri X ((atropunctata x neopavonia) x (atropunctata x calcicola)))
Pollen parent: MM 13-207a (bellendenii x neopavonia)

This is odd. The seed parent is purpley-orange, and the pollen parent is orange. But when I put them together, I got a couple of intensely-colored yellow flowers, as well as some oranges.

MM 18-122b

MM 18-122c

MM 18-122d

Here are some others...

Moraea MM 18-121

Seed parent: MM 11-80a (M. atropunctata x neopavonia) X (atropunctata x calcicola)
Pollen parent: MM 14-177a (villosa d X ((atropunctata x neopavonia) x (neopavonia x villosa))

Interesting color combinations, all with a fairly narrow eye.

Moraea MM 18-113

Seed parent: MM 13-138 (M. bellendenii X aristata)
Pollen parent: MM 13-89d (M. villosa x tulbaghensis) X villosa d

Crossing a lovely pink flower with a yellow one, I was hoping to get red. The answer was pretty decisively "no."

MM 18-113a

MM 18-113b

Unfortunately, I labeled this one 18-113b as well...

Some siblings...

Moraea MM 18-111

Seed parent: MM 13-138 (M. bellendenii X aristata)
Pollen parent: MM 12-149c (longiaristata X aristata)

I crossed a yellow flower with a flower spotted and streaked purple, hoping for a streaked yellow flower. The result is neither yellow nor streaky.

Moraea MM 18-107

Seed parent: MM 13-197 (M. lurida X villosa h)
Pollen parent: MM 13-10a (aristata x villosa) X neopavonia

MM 18-107a. When I made this cross, I was hoping to get the orange color of the pollen parent combined with some of the lurida elements if the seed parent. For once, I got what I expected.

I really like the extra-wide inner tepals.

MM 18-107b. A lot like form a, but note the double band of color in the eye.

MM 18-107c. Excellent! Three bands of color in the eye: purple, blue, and yellow.

MM 18-107d

MM 18-107e

MM 18-107f

And more...

MM 18-104

Seed parent: Moraea unguiculata Koue Bokkeveld form
Pollen parent: Moraea villosa o

These hybrids picked up the general shape of the seed parent, and the coloring of the pollen parent.

MM 18-104a

MM 18-104b. This one has curly tips at the ends of the inner tepals, as does its seed parent.

I'm not sure if these are other forms, or just sun-faded versions of the flowers above.
