Moraea MM 19-23

Seed parent: MM 14-116a ((atropunctata x calcicola) x (atropunctata x neopavonia)) X atropunctata
Pollen parent: GK 1699 MX_19

The genetics of the pollen parent are unknown (it was from a batch of mixed seeds), but clearly M. atropunctata was involved. Their offspring also looks a lot like atropunctata, with an extravagant purple-black eye. It's not necessarily a beautiful flower, but it's very interesting.

MM 19-23a

This partly-open flower lets you see the atropunctata-style coloring on the backs of the tepals.
